Affirmations

By definition, an affirmation is the act of affirming; a declaration that something is true. It is an assertion, which is to say that it is something that is declared or stated positively, and as such, it carries a different vibration and energy than a false declaration. This is why they work. When we give voice to affirmations, we believe them to be true. The belief in them to be true is what makes them affirmations. It’s what gives them power.

The opposite of affirming is denying. When you deny, you’re stating that something is untrue. You refuse to believe or reject that it is true. This is important, for all words have power, because all words are really just sounds and are therefore sound energy. Words are sounds used to represent or convey meaning. Therefore, you can use sounds to convey and release positive energy or you can use them to convey and release negative energy. The choice is yours. Why is this important you ask? Well, it is important because of the universal law of attraction. Like energy attracts like energy or in other words, as you sow, so shall you reap. You are literally what you say, what you think and what you do, which is all just energy.

Whether we realize it or not, we all say affirmations. Likewise, many of us also regularly deny. We are literally creating different energy waves through our thoughts and words 24 hours a day. We never stop. These energy waves are sent out and cause like waves to come back to us. This is how we create our experiences. The key is to be conscious of what you give voice and thought to in order to make sure you’re continually sending out positive energy and maintaining a positive vibration. Some refer to this as the state of grace.
